earth is a lie

The ridiculously inflated human population bubble will burst once we run out of oil. At that point, maybe our toxic civilization will stop wiping out ecosystems and exterminating entire species. I hope I’m alive to watch people scramble to maintain an unsustainable system which is collapsing beneath the weight of a human population which has severely exceeded the Earth’s carrying capacity. Global warming wouldn’t be an issue if 7 billion human beings weren’t consuming nonrenewable resources.

We neuter our cats and dogs because we don’t want them reproducing. We hunt deer and turkey and other animals because we made their natural predators extinct and took on the responsibility of population control. You need a license to drive a car, but not to create a human life. I had to fill out paperwork to adopt a rescue kitten, but if I wanted to have 19 children, nobody can tell me no.

I’m not saying we need a governmental agency to be in charge or human reproduction. I’m saying we as human beings need to take on some personal responsibility and maybe ask a couple questions of ourselves and others: do I need to reproduce? Do I contribute anything meaningful in any fashion to my fellow human beings or to other life on the planet? Why do I want to create children?

If you know someone who is planning on having children, or you yourself are, ask these questions, and others. Don’t have kids simply because it’s what you perceive to be your duty, or because you really like babies. I assure you, the world does not need any more human beings. Especially ones that will be raised to be ignorant, intolerant, apathetic, inconsiderate, disrespectful, and wasteful, and then be subsequently indoctrinated into statism, militarism, nationalism, monetarism, and the bullshit sexist and racist paradigms society has contrived.

Nobody asks to be born, but you can ask why you want your children to be.
